Four Elements of UI

Diagetic

If the player wants to fly to different locations in Destiny 2, they can use their Ghost. Instead of just teleporting to places or spawning a vehicle, Ghost can do it for you. When activating Ghost, he appears in the characters hand, and you can hold different buttons to have him do tasks. When he's in the characters hand, he floats around and looks at you with his eye.

Meta

When taking damage, the edges of the screen turn red. This is an obvious visual cue to tell the player to get to safety. The red shows that the character is bleeding, but it is mostly for effects.

Spacial

When accessing the map, the player can mark locations to get a GPS tracker to where they wanna go. The icon has a unique look to show the player that this is the direction to follow. Stonehouse says that there is no reason to break character in a game, so the icon is a familar logo with a unique look (Stonehouse 2014).

Non-Diagetic

The HUD interface on the screen is only for the player to see. It does not exist in the game world or is intractive for the character. In Destiny 2, the main HUD on the bottom left consists of class abilities, guns, and ammo. The layout is very simple and allows the player to clearly see what is available to use.
